Most the Gogos open in the evenings only. But there are several bars that open early in the afternoon for those who wish to get out of the sun.
The larger bars employ a larger number of girls, while small bars often have a smaller number of girls, and get most dancers to work double shifts to earn a higher salary. This may entail the girl dancing from says 2.00pm until 2.00am. The problem that affects YOU is that they are effectively working double shifts.
In order to have fresh girls on stage, TQ1 has a total shift change about 7.30pm. Oasis also has a shift change, but about 11:00pm.
The double edged sword means that the girls are often tired by the evening and then if barfined, have to rush back home early the next morning to change before going back to work the next day. A "DOUBLE BARFINE" has to be paid for the 24 hour period, because her work is split over two shifts or an "All Girls On-parade" time in the early evening. Some girls only work the afternoon session. However, if a girl is then seen leaving with a customer, she will have still have the barfine stopped from her wages!
So if you take a girl from a smaller bar and want to go swimming in the day or visiting a tourist site and also have the girl in the evening, you will be paying a 1,000 Baht bar fine, whereas an evening only bar will only cost you a 500-600 Baht single barfine.(These are examples and not the exact price, due to BF price increases.) The amount the girls want for their time may well be the same, although "Walking Street" girls think they are worth a higher payment. Negotiate!
As of OCT 2011, daytime bars included Air Port Club, Club Nevada, Far East Rock, Hot Girls, Las Vegas, New Star, Noui's 2, Champagne (2pm), Oasis (5pm) and TQ1. This list may well alter, so check around when you get here.
